Interesting book title. I occasionally make my own bumperstickers which I display on the bumper of my 79 ford truck here in Northwest Louisiana. I never leave them on for long, just a kind of "thought for the week". My "Rednecks and Niggers Must Die" cost me two broken tail-lights while it was displayed. I don't reference skin color but a cultural STATE OF MIND which is dragging us all down. What will kill Bubba and Rudy? The answer is higher education and content of character.

As a child, I remember my mother stopping anyone who used the terms gyp or jew as verbs. God knows what she'd have done if she heard the N word. But many might have considered her immigrant Midwestern family to be redneck or white trash.

Yes, that's true, but it's still not an argument for not using Nigger. I've heard plenty of compelling arguments for people, themselves, saying they don't want to use it. But not a single argument for why people who want to use it should be barred. The fact that it makes other people uncomfortable isn't a good reason.

The difference between the n-word and the r-word is that the r-word was NOT drafted by an oppressor for the express purpose of squashing the humanity of millions of people over a period of five hundred years so that the oppressor's group could maintain their power TO THE PRESENT while realizing MASSIVE financial profits through the exploitation of the denigrated group. Know what I'm sayin'?
