A bifurcation: 75% cynical hack who can give you the demographic breakdown and voting history of every village in Iowa, and 25% inspired little ball o' hope, who get choked up at the sight of a Corinthian column and really does believe their guy is the guy who can make a difference. I worked with corporate lawyers once, and I was surprised to find that they nearly always truly believed their side was the right side, not merely that their side was the one that was signing their checks. Human mind works that way; we are inclined to pick a team, to root for it, to incorporate ourselves with it.

Re: It Was All Good Just A Year Ago

Except, your MILF lovers would all be used car salesmen? Unless I didn't get the joke.

Re: It Was All Good Just A Year Ago

In contrast I usually love interviews with pollsters, who tend to be hired by one side but at least on NPR are willing to step back and do the big picture. My fond memories from the last 2 cycles: 2006, the pollsters from both sides agreed that secretly long-term thinkers in each party wanted the other side to have control of the House and Senate by about 1 seat, so that in 2008 things would be that party's fault (or fault too, as things turned out). And for 2008 very early on (Dec 2007) a caller was dismissing Obama as "hey, I'm liberal but he's black, won't happen" and the Republican pollster dressed him down--that's not who we are as a country, how dare you tell a black man not to bother, and so on. I was proud to share a nationality with him.

Re: It Was All Good Just A Year Ago

I dont! plz explain!!!!!

Re: It Was All Good Just A Year Ago

Oh, I do.
