Is it me, or did Rock look a little shifty-eyed when he was defending Clinton? He was way more convincing on Letterman, criticizing Clinton, than he was here defending him. He literally shifted his eyes there, and looked quite nervous.

My favorite moments were when he called King out, and King looked down nervously. That nervous silence is the best comic tool out there.

I always care what celebrities have to say. Since we ALL live the same lifestyles as them. Big deal if McCain has more money than Obama. McCain doesn't need more money Obama will want more money hanging out with the celebrities. Look at Dr.Phil after Oprah made him big same thing will happen to Obama if he wins.

Chris Rock has given me another favorite quote about Palin's lack of substance. His comparison of Palin's vapidity under tremendous beauty and charm being like Kim Kardashian on Dancing with the Stars "with all that ass, but can't shake it" is almost as good as when TNC said Palin was "all hot sauce and no catfish." LMAO!!!!

The reason why that talking point doesn't work with the Dems is because the Dems formulate policies that focus aid and attention on the so-called "lower classes". FDR would be the most obvious example but certainly not the only one.

Besides Edwards earned every penny he has and Kerry didn't marry his millionaire wife until he was already a US Senator. In other words, they made their own way in life, unlike Bush or McCain.

Rock is brilliant here, as always.

Best comment, paraphrasing: "If you have to choose between pissing off a whole race of people and pissing off your wife, you piss off a whole race of people!"

Smartest thing yet said about Bill Clinton and the race-baiting in the primary. Yes, I believe Clinton race-baited, but no, I don't think he's a racist. Complicated world. Rock makes it clear, with humor, and so much truth.

I wonder if Larry has ever asked anyone in reference to a white Presidential candidate as to whether or not "the menu would change" if he was elected? Proud of C. Rock. He gave intelligent answers and handled Larry well. What the hell was he thinking with some of those ignorant a** questions!!?

It is hard to pick what is King's worst question, but that one sucked. It was like King was channeling Fuzzy Zoeller after Tiger Woods won the Masters.

Asking a comedian what Obama would do on his first day in office was pretty stupid as well. As if King things Chris Rock is going to be Obama's Chief of Staff or booking secretary.

as he's getting older, he is getting better.

was never a huge fan before - he was awright, but i always compare and measure comedians to richard pryor and, well, that's a tough one for just about anybody - but in recent years, he's gotten more political and seems to be saying, what-the-hell,-i'm-gonna-say-whatever-the-hell-i-want-to-say-about-anything-and-anybody. it's like he's been channeling richard pryor. he probably feels a lot more financially secure, like he can take more risks, and for the rest of us, that's good.

what is so interesting nowadays is that people like chris rock and david letterman and "the view" ladies are much more incisive and on-point than most of the talking-points-spewing so-called pundits who pollute our media market. those folks are telling more truth than you see in a month on the so-called new.

and he's right about bush and "30%" of those black voters. if only republicans gave black folks a reason to vote for them. sadly, they never do. a sad cycle.

There are a few reasons why this is a lame line of attack: JFK, FDR, John Kerry, John Edwards. When the democrat is rich, the Democratic talking point is that it doesn't matter. Not that the Republicans are any more consistent, but the point would be easier to make if four years ago, the ticket was Biden/Kucinich rather than John Forbes Kerry/John Edward$.

I wonder why Rock doesn't go further with the $150 MN versus $1 MN line of attack, and point out the real difference between McCain's wealth and Obama's: Obama's was self-made. McCain's was acquired in the vilest possible way (he "traded up" wives). That's vastly more relevant than net worth in distinguishing these men's characters - as self-made rich person Rock ought to know.

Wow, thanks for posting this. It's probably the first time I've heard Chris speak out of character for any extended period. Obviously, he is the same person underneath the character he plays (and I've always laughed at his stuff, including on Letterman the other night, where he was in character in all the clips I've seen).

His insight was amazing and he showed Mr. King for the fool that he is (of course, he stayed in character).

My favorite line was his analysis of how the candidates would treat the housing problem, based on their personal situation. McCain is incapable of understanding real people, since "he could lose half of his houses and still sleep well".
