Re; The posting by Charlotte K about how happy Barack is. I agree, but would add that he is comfortable with who he is. He's grounded. He knows what he's about. Contrast that with McCain. Interestingly, Palin seems to be grounded, and knows who she is. Too bad who she is is so.....icky. Scary. A diva. Closed minded. But Barack - a strong sense of self, an ease with that. I think it's not only his upbringing and his growth as a person, but his relationship (security) with Michelle, and his strong faith. It's not a faith like Palin's - God is on her side - but a faith that asks, am I on God's side? While knowing, deeply, that he is doing God's work in a more encompassing sense, a more humble way.

Obama is totally adorkable. (adorable + dork) The fact that he laughs at his own jokes makes him so made of win in a dorky sticky-outy-ears way.

If only you trusted The Corner like you should, you would know that Obama's trip on the Daily Show was condescending and silly and showed that Obama is already counting his win as a done deal.

You know what I'm struck by when I see Obama in situations like this? The guy is HAPPY. He knows the world is a serious place and he has serious work to do on our behalf. But he is a happy person who loves his wife & kids and he likes to have fun and joke around. He's serious but not solemn.

The bit about the Bradley effect was so surprising and so funny!

Obama was funny --- the "two halves struggling over the Bradley effect" bit, the "I don't think white people got the memo". He and Jon Stewart make a pretty good team.

I remember John Kerry on The Daily Show in 2004. He was pretty flat.

He looks thinner and grayer than he did a couple months ago ... He's already doing that accelerated aging thing, but a friend of mine noted that it could also be the added stress of this pas week with his grandmother.

Granted, the Daily Show is preaching to the choir. But the combination of the infomercial and the appearance last night destroyed the argument that this guy is scary. Who the hell would be scared of Obama after watching these things?

Can I be a silly girl for just a moment and say Barack Obama is so adorable, in the charming sense of the word. It's just so refreshing, after watching Dick and Gaucho for eight years, to see a leader with a graceful stance and a geniuine smile who has something inspirational to say. I want to clone him and place another seat at my dinner table.

It was great. I watched the whole segment and Obama didn't start too well --he isn't all that great in that format-- but then all of the sudden he started to enjoy himself a lot. The white/black sides of him struggling was just really, really funny
